My phone rang very late on a Saturday night. It was Henry David Thoreau, he just said “Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them” and he hung up. The mood for scrolling YouTube shorts evaporated in a moment, and I started writing the lyrics for my submission to AI Song Contest 2024. I called Henry back very early on Wednesday morning to tell him my song was ready, and I wanted to give him some credit for the inspiration.
